For Memorial day I wanted to do some grilling, keto style! Of course that means taking meat and wrapping it in bacon. Also, I got good use out of the Kohlrabi Kraut that I posted yesterday.
Here is the finished brat with cheese and kraut in a lettuce bun.
Start with any brats you want. These particular ones were the lowest carb I could find at one per brat.
I like to boil my brats in beer before I grill them. These were technically already cooked but its easier to get them warm first then finish them on the grill.
Boil them for about 10 minutes and then set them on a plate until they’re cool enough to wrap.
Here are the bacon wrapped brats ready for the grill.
Slap them on there and let the bacon sizzle!
A little fire kissed but tasted great!
Another option is to eat it on a low carb pita.
- 4 Brats
- 2 12 oz beers
- 4 Bacon slices
- 4 Romaine Lettuce Leafs
- 4 slices Cheese
- Place brats in a pot, cover with beer
- Boil for 10 minutes
- Remove brats and wrap with bacon
- Grill until the bacon is crisp
