People are always asking for more crockpot recipes, and honestly, I don’t blame them. Its so simple, you just break out your trusty crockpot, throw in the ingredients, and magically you’ve got dinner! Today I’m going to make a tasty and creamy chicken based soup that’s sure to please the whole family. This week I wanted to get fancy and attempted to show the whole recipe in one picture! Starting from the top left, you add in the raw chicken thighs. Then you top with browned chorizo, add the tomatoes, garlic, hot sauce and Worcestershire. Finally you throw in the cream and chicken stock. Set it for 3 hours on high and walk away! You could also cook it for 6-8 hours on low but I didn’t test this. Here’s the finished soup! I took the chicken out and broke it up and let it cook on low for a few minutes.Top it with shaved Parmesan and Sour cream for an awesome, creamy soup! Just in time to beat the winter blues.

Cuisinart PSC-650 6-1/2-Quart Crockpot Useful for set it and a forget it meals where you place all the items into the crockpot and let it rip! Most crockpots use a ceramic, dishwasher safe bowl that’s heated from the outside to a low temperature which allows the ingredients to simmer for hours. |
Victorinox Fibrox 8″ Chef’s Knife You really only need one good knife. This one is it. America’s Test Kitchen rated it the number one budget knife! |
Non-slip Cutting Board Let’s face it, keto involves a lot of prep. You’ve got to slice all those vegetables, cut up all that meat and not just any old board will do. Make sure to grab yourself a nice non-slip one for the kitchen! |
Didn’t realize all this would not fit in my crockpot so i only used half of the broth 🙁
So, I made this recipe completely wrong. I halved all the meat (and forgot to halve the rest) and I didn’t have chicken broth, so I improvised with 1/2 red wine and 1/2 water, plus some herbs and soy sauce. I also cooked mine on low for 8 hours after having chilled the prepared ingredients overnight. Somehow even with my various screw ups, this soup is absolutely delicious! I just finished eating two bowls and I’m stoked to have this for work lunch the rest of the week. Thanks for the recipe!
This recipe is fantastic. The broth was fantastic and the chicken was incredible. The only thing I did differently was use whole thighs (not boneless/skinless). I took the skin off before putting them in. When it came time to shred the chicken it fell right off the bone. Great recipe.
Tried this for the first time today! I wasn’t too sure about it, at first, but it’s a very tasty soup! Definitely will be making this again. 🙂
I hardly ever like recipes the way they are written, but this was DELICIOUS. One of the best things I’ve cooked in a while. I left the crackpot on low for about 8-9hrs and the chicken literally fell apart.
how many grams is one serving? Please keep measurements consistent on all your recipes.
Thanks!
Definitely brown the chorizo first! I didn’t, thinking it would cook in the hot broth all day but it just disintegrated. It still tasted okay but definitely was’t the consistency I was going for.
Have this in my crock pot right now and can’t wait for it to be done. Only question is.. the protein calculated at 52 seems really high… is that correct? 🙂
Threw in some jalapenos, diced onion, and a bell pepper as well. Turned out amazing!
1 Can of Stewed tomatoes. What size can?
